Catholic Religious Australia (CRA) has called for a nationally coordinated reform of the youth justice system in a recent submission to a Senate Inquiry into Australia’s youth justice and incarceration system.

For the seventh year running, Catholic Religious Australia (CRA) will hold an hour of remembrance, as Religious communities across Australia unite in prayer this Sunday, 20 October, for victims and survivors of sexual abuse.

Catholic Religious Australia (CRA) was invited to give evidence last Friday at a public hearing for the Senate Inquiry into the government’s waste reduction and recycling policies. CRA emphasised the unjust human and environmental impacts of Australia’s waste production and management, and the urgent need to transition to a circular economy.

Leaders of Religious Institutes, Bishops and the CRA National Executive Director formed the Australian delegation which welcomed the Pope’s recent visit to our nearest neighbour, Papua New Guinea. During his 12-day visit to the Asia Pacific, which is the longest yet since becoming Pope, he promoted tolerance and interreligious dialogue, he encouraged care for the poor and the environment, and pleaded for the protection of women and girls.

A new National Council has been elected by Catholic Religious Australia (CRA) as over 120 leaders of Religious Congregations gathered this week in Brisbane Archdiocese for the 2024 CRA National Assembly (26-28 August).
